It's best to book it online when you make your reservation: that way, we'll know in advance that you'll be crossing the border, and the vehicle and documentation will be ready when you pick it up.<\/p>\n<p>The cross-border service is a single charge <strong>per rental, not per crossing<\/strong>: you can enter and leave as many times as you like at the same cost. It covers Chile, Brazil and Uruguay.<\/p>\n<p>Add this in Step 3 (Choose Extras). If you request it at the counter, the vehicle assigned to you may not be authorized to leave the country. Crossing the border without having purchased this coverage leaves the vehicle uninsured.<\/p>\n<p>You can also take the vehicle on the <strong>Strait of Magellan ferry<\/strong> to reach Tierra del Fuego and Ushuaia. That route is authorised and covered by the same charge.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div  class=\"vc_do_toggle vc_toggle vc_toggle_default vc_toggle_color_default  vc_toggle_size_md\"><div class=\"vc_toggle_title\"><h4>WHY DO YOU SCAN MY DOCUMENT WHEN I PICK UP THE CAR?<\/h4><i class=\"vc_toggle_icon\"><\/i><\/div><div class=\"vc_toggle_content\"><p>Before handing over each vehicle, we verify the driver's ID and driver's license with a scanner from <strong>365id<\/strong>, which verifies in seconds that they are authentic and valid. It's the same technology used by international rental companies, banks, and hotels.<\/p>\n<p>This process replaces photocopying and manual data entry, and protects our customers, our fleet, and third parties. A fake, altered, or expired document is detected before delivery, and the rental does not proceed.<\/p>\n<p>Images of valid documents are not stored.
